Just a few days ago, Matt Cutts announced that Backlinks.com has been outed. This is the next link network to get caught for being a link network and penalized. Similar to what happened with Anglo Rank, Matt posted another tweet alerting everyone of the take down and also poking fun at the network for touting that they didn’t have any footprints:

“Our installation code/software used to publish the sold links is not detectable by the search engine bots.” Au contraire!

We believe again that this is Matt’s way of publicly letting us all know that they are either eyeing black hat forums or they are systematically trying to take down link networks one at a time. Either way, the public tweets are going to discourage people from using the networks which is exactly what they want.
