Why we chose LinkDelete:

First and foremost LinkDelete was the first link removal service provider, and we’ve since seen hundreds of link removal companies come and go. While link removals may seem like a simple problem to solve it’s anything but easy. A thorough link removal campaign needs to utilize all major backlink checking tools. Sophisticated algorithms must be developed to properly analyze the backlinks found from those tools. Finally those backlinks will need to be manually verified by a human to determine the true context of each link as no algorithm can properly identify context of a link. Think that’s it? You are only getting started.

Next up is Webmaster outreach to get in touch with website owners and work with them to remove the links that must be removed. This process alone can take hundreds of hours depending on the websites link profile.

LinkDelete checks all of the boxes, and does so with the most competitive pricing in the industry.

We’ve referred hundreds of clients to LinkDelete and continue to do so as they haven’t let us down, or a client that we have referred to them. Some clients that we referred to LinkDelete were quoted over $10,000 for a campaign from competitors. Total cost with LinkDelete for those type of campaigns? $297.

GOOGLE PENALTY PREVENTION

Don’t wait until it is too late. If your site has unnatural links pointing to it then you’ll need to get those links removed. Proactively performing link removals ensures that your backlink profile is in the healthiest position possible. This helps prevent any future issues that may occur as a result of these unnatural links.

IMPROVE SEO HEALTH

Link removals can help you improve the overall health of your websites SEO by removing over-optimized, low quality backlinks from your websites backlink profile. This helps provide stable and smooth rankings with Google’s and other search engines rankings.

The History of Link Removals

Ranking in Google used to be easy when Google was just starting out. The days of adding your desired keywords a bunch of times on a page, known as keyword stuffing, inflating keywords in your meta tags and title tags and optimizing your URLs was about the extent of search engine optimization at that time.

However Google started to become more sophisticated, further refining their algorithms and moving away from the simplicity of the methods described above. About this time they started to place further emphasis into their PageRank algorithm, specifically into links that pointed to a website. Google considered links as a vote of confidence into the sites they were linking to.

Search engine optimization companies and SEOs themselves started to notice the benefit of links. Fast forward a few years and link spam started to skyrocket. SEO companies could build blog comment links, forum profile links, and everything in between and help their clients rank well in Google. Mass spam tools started to become popular about this time to help SEO’s build thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of links without ever having to put in the hard work themselves.

This led to Google’s search results becoming less and less relevant, and the rampant abuse needed to be taken care of. Paid link services like BuildMyRank were one of the first service providers targeted by Google. With BuildMyRank an SEO company could have access to thousands of blogs that they could build “high quality” links on for their clients. Services like this one changed the game of SEO, making it easier to target high search volume and highly coveted keywords.

The problem is that services like BuildMyRank were open to the public, all it took was a Google employee accessing the service and easily reverse engineer the service providers entire link network.

Google did just that and completely deindexed the entire services link network. The problem was that services like this one were popping up on a near daily basis. Penalizing the service providers simply wasn’t enough. They needed to make Website owners fearful of utilizing link building services. Thus they introduced manual search penalties for website owners that were working with link building services or SEO companies that implemented those tactics. Hundreds of thousands of penalties were given to websites attempting to “game Google”.

Thus the link removal industry was created. LinkDelete was the first link removal service provider that offered to help Webmasters identify and remove these types of links. Google required sites that were penalized to remove all of these links and provide evidence via their reconsideration request process. The good news for Webmasters was that these penalties could be overturned. The bad news was that the SEO industry was drastically changing.

Link networks, blog networks and similar services couldn’t exist like they once did. This meant that spam link building methods started to take a resurgence again. With Google and SEO’s it is always a cat and mouse game. As Google evolves as do the practices that SEO companies utilize. The problem was that Google was handing out unnatural link penalties for paid links, link networks, blog networks and other similar services. Spammy link building methods were still working and newer, more sophisticated link building tools were being released.

Google needed to change the game again. This time they created what’s now known as the Penguin update. Google launched the Penguin update in April of 2012 to directly target websites utilizing spam to game their search results. Moving beyond simply vetting link networks, they started to analyze a websites entire backlink profile. By looking at the sources of links, the diversity in anchor text, and a variety of other metrics Google was able to develop a new algorithm to combat spam.

The problem is that Penguin had devastating effects on webmasters across the globe. The root problem was that man of these businesses had no idea that the SEO companies that they were working with had utilized spammy tactics to achieve rankings for their clients. When Penguin was released hundreds of thousands, or potentially millions of businesses were affected overnight.

Unlike a manual penalty, a Penguin penalty was much much worse. There was no reconsideration request process and a website owner needed to wait until Google “refreshed” the algorithm before they’d see any recovery in rankings. After being affected by a Penguin penalty a website owner needed to remove these unnatural links in order to recover its rankings.

Fast forward to today and link removal and cleanup is a pivotal part of any effective SEO strategy. SEO companies have been slow to adapt to Penguin and still rely on antiquated link building methods. Thus a majority of websites on the internet have spam links pointing to them. Link analysis and removals are a critical part of any SEO companies strategy for their clients.

Have you performed a link analysis on your website recently? Are you sure that your website doesn’t have any legacy spam links pointing to it? Are you certain that your current SEO company isn’t employing any of these tactics? Don’t wait until it is too late. Have your websites link profile checked today!

    How Backlink removal services work:

They examine each backlink that is publicly available either through AHREFS, Majestic SEO or Open Site Explorer. You even have the option to upload your own links from Google Webmaster Tools. From there, they will compile all of the backlinks that are out there.
Next, there is a link profile analysis or link profile audit. This process is what determines what is a good backlink and what is a bad backlink. Most services have very complex algorithms that they use in order to examine the health or risk of each backlink.
Once the bad backlinks have been identified, the service will take all of the toxic links and then will use a process to get in touch with each and every webmaster to have the link removed for you. This is the most time consuming part since a substantial amount of time is manual.
Sometimes not all of the links that are found to be negative can be removed. They will help you prepare a disavow file that not only will help disavow the links that you have already removed, but also the links that were unable to be successfully removed. This not an issue though because Google just wants to see first-hand that you have made an effort to have the links removed.
Lastly, most of the good services will even help you write a Google Re-Inclusion request. They have done this so many times that they know what to say and knows what has the highest success rate to get the penalty lifted.

If you are in the situation where you know that you need to have your links removed somehow but honestly don’t have the time to do it yourself following my guide, I recommend the following vendors to use. If you click on the the service name below, you will be taken to a review of each service to learn more about them.
